Site Description

This Industrial Training Institute Chengalpattu was established in 1963 and is currently running in the campus of 51.36 Acres, with a total built up area of approximately 40000sq. The buildings cover 50% of the site, with open areas, internal service roads, services and paths covering the rest.

Every waste generator shall segregate construction and demolition waste and deposit at collection center or handover it to the authorized processing facilities

Minimization of wastage including reuse and recycle of materials, as possible.

Prompt disposal of C&D waste as per the State guidelines

Proper maintenance of vehicle shall be carried out to avoid any leakage of oil or grease.

Waste shall be stored at designated place after segregation on the basis of category (hazardous and non-hazardous); Hazardous waste shall be disposed of to the authorized vendors only

Provision and enforcement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as relevant to the needs of the work.

Ensuring proper safety precautions during erection, use and dismantling of temporary structures such as scaffoldings

Provision of adequate personal protective equipment like safety helmets, face masks, safety shoes, safety goggles etc. for the safety of workers

Training of staffs and students on HSE aspects (Electrical hazards and safe work practices, CPR training)

Hygiene Management (Personal, Domestic and Institutional sanitation)

Trade Specific Courses training (Identification of occupational hazards, including ergonomic and safe work practices, Identification of waste sources, Characterisation of wastes, Reuse and recycling of wastes, including disposal of expired batteries)

All type of training given to students shall be properly documented and scheduled on periodical basis in a year.
