Skill development initiative on Modular Employment Skills (MES) has been developed in close consultancy with industry state governments and experts in pursuance excellence in vocational training.MES is the Minimum skill set which is sufficient to get an employment in the employment market. MES allows skill up gradation / formation, multi entry and exit. It is flexible. It gives recognization of prior learning skills to be assessed by an assessing body. The skills are tested and certified.
Objectives of MES:- To provide vocational training to school leavers, existing workers, and ITI trained for skill up gradation and testing, and to improve their employability by optimum utilization of the existing infrastructure in the institution. Existing skills of a person can also be tested and certified thus improving his employability.
Key Features:- Demand driven short term courses are conducted, based on facilities available. Optimum utilization of existing infrastructure available. Flexible delivery mechanism of training. That is on part time, weekends and onsite, to suit the needs of the target group. Different levels of programmes like foundation, skill formation and up gradation. Courses are available to persons with 5th standard pass or with higher qualification. Testing of skills by an independent assessing body. Testing of skills of an individual acquired informally can also be tested and certified.
Target Groups:- Workers seeking certification of their skills acquired informally. Workers and ITI passed students seeking skill up gradation Early school dropouts and un-employed, Previously child labour and their families.
Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 14 years. There is no upper age limit to take training.
