Government Industrial Training Institute, Coonoor, The Nilgiris was started in the year 1964 under Third five year plan (1961-66). It is situtated in 21.01 acres of land in hill area of Coonoor, The Nilgiris District (Queen of Hills) in Tamilnadu with whole treasure of natural sceneries.
This Institute is functioning with nine trades such as Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Wireman, Electronic Mechanic, Mechanic Refrigeration and Air conditioner, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Welder and Carpenter.
Placement
Placement This institute has placement cell with one of the staff as placement officer with details of all our passed out and present trainees seeking placement. Interested industries conduct career day, campus interview to our senior trainees and select them for apprenticeship training and appointment.
