How to apply for admission to a trade in the ITI and When?

Apply through On Line www.skilltraining.tn.gov.in every year soon after the SSLC results are published in the month of June. The candidates for admission are selected based on merit and communal rotation every year through District Wise Counseling. District Counseling is conducted by the Nodal Government ITIs located in each District. The candidates according to their rank will choose the course or ITI as per his/her choice. The selection order issued to each candidate on the spot.

Candidates can choose the trades on the counselling day strictly based on Merit, and as per the reservation policy by the Tamilnadu government as applicable from time to time.

The minimum age limit for admission to all the trades is 14 years . There is no upper age limit for women to join in the courses.

  • Tuition Fees - Nil
  • Special Fees - Nil
  • Caution Deposit Rs.100 (Refundable on successful completion of the course)
  • Sports fee Rs.10
  • Fees for Registration and Identification card Rs.25
  • Certificate verification fees Rs.50
  • Online Application Fees - Rs. 50

The training session usually starts during the month of August & ends in the month of JULY. Training is being given as per National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) norms.

The Government of Tamilnadu has sanctioned the following concessions to the Government & Aided Private ITI trainees:-

  • Free Bus pass between their place of residence and the institute for the entire Training period
  • Free uniforms (two sets) with stitching charges per year to all the trainees
  • Free Bi-Cycle to all the trainees (Boys & Girls)
  • Free Laptop to all the trainees
  • Free Text Books both Theory and Practical for all the Semesters
  • Free shoes for all the trainees
  • Free Drawing instruments to all the Engineering trade trainees.

Monthly stipend of Rs.500/-is issued to all the trainees.
