In a country like India which has abundant manpower but limited skills, it is important to improve quality of training and upgrade the graduates’ skills so as to meet industry requirement and contribute to the inclusive growth of the Country. This was the reason which inspired Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, a responsible corporate citizen to join the Government’s Initiative of transforming Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Centre of Excellence. IOCL has been associated with Government of India as part of its skill development endeavour. ITI Ambattur was adopted by IOCL in the Year 2021 with the vision of creating a pool of industry ready workforce for the benefit of both industries and students by aligning the skill development in ITIs with industry needs.


Institute Management Committee will endeavour at comprehensive development of young minds by imparting up to date and modern training to the students. Various activities shall be undertaken for giving students exposure of industry culture such as apprenticeship programmes, extra-curricular activities, soft skill development programmes etc. Opportunities will be given to the students for learning professional working culture.
Every trainer requires training to make their courses effective and the importance of same is much higher in the area where technology is fast changing. IMC of ITI Ambattur will also focus on the faculty development so as to update the knowledge base of trainers. Various learning opportunities will be provided to the Principal and members of staff through different forums. New training methodologies will be introduced for making teaching more effective.
IMC will focus on creating more professional physical environment by bringing know-how of latest and market needed technologies/processes. Basic infrastructure will be upgraded like smart classrooms, internet facility etc. Suitable support will be provided in repair/maintenance of machinery, tools, classrooms, workshops etc.
IMC will make effort to plug the large practical knowledge gap for establishing highly interactive and productive industry connect. Need of the students and that of the industry will be understood and accordingly steps will be taken to fill the gap. Course content shall be modified to bring it in sync with industry requirement. Industry Visits, Placement Fairs, Industrial Trainings etc. will be organized.
Institute Management Committee will establish such processes, systems and procedures so as to ensure good governance at the institute. This will include transparent and effective administration, compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, proper recording and maintenance of the documents etc.
