IOur Institute is very old one and it imparts vocational training for largest number of trainees among others in Tamil Nadu. It has been functioning since 1st January 1969 to make the youths as skilled worker. It has been affiliated to National Council of Vocational Training under DGET, New Delhi. It is functioning under the control of Department of Employment and Training, Government of Tamil Nadu. It aims to impart training into the age group between 14 and 40 years for men and women under Craftsmen Training Scheme for economically weak and downtrodden people. It is situated in main hub of Ambattur Industrial Estate, Thiruvallur District. Presently training is imparted in 25 trades for 65 units at this Institute. It helps to develop technical skill to both men and women to meet out the industrial needs. In order to provide technical skill to the minimum qualified persons, short term course has been introduced under Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) and AMMA Two Wheeler training scheme sponsored by Government of Tamil Nadu.
