Government Industrial Training Institute, Karumandurai
The craftsman training is provided with a view to prepare Semi Skilled workers for the Industry. The Educational qualification varies from class 8th pass to class 10th pass depending on the trades. The duration of training varies from one to two years in this Institute. The trainees after completion of craftsmen training appear in the all India trade test to get National Trade Certificate awarded by the National Council of Vocational Training, which is recognized for the purpose of recruitment to the subordinate technical posts at the shop floor level within the country as well as abroad. The state government, through industrial training institutes, imposes an institutionalized vocational training scheme, which is one of the flagship programmes run by the DGE&T. One year on the job apprenticeship training is given to the ITI passed outs through Industries.
Apply through Online www.skilltraining.tn.gov.in every year soon after the SSLC results are published in the month of June. After applying the candidate has called for District level Interview and given a chance to select the trade at Institute as per merit and Communal reservation policy basis done by counseling held in June. The candidate may choose the Trades.
