ABOUT THE INSTITUTION

In a developing country like India, which is witnessing a revolutionary upgrade in literacy, demand for skilled technicians is also bound to grow. It is important on the part of vocational training institutions to grow with the same phase for the betterment of the industry and society, as well as the overall industrial growth of the nation. Vocational training is an important subject under the Constitution. The central government as well as the state government share the responsibility of implementing vocational training in the country. At the national level, the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGE&T) and the Department of Labour Welfare and Skill Development in the State of Tamil Nadu. This formulates policies, norms, and standards for the training system; it conducts All India Trade Tests (AITT) and issues certificates of vocational training under the guidelines of an advisory body called the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT). Entrepreneurs face a great number of challenges in building a successful venture. The Government Industrial Training Institute, Karumandurai (636 138), has been inspired by a dream and vision to be a high-class vocational training institution in the state of Tamilnadu.
