Result Area: 1 Improved performance of ITIs

Under this Result Area 13 Government ITIs viz., Ambattur, Chengalpet, Trichy, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Madurai, Dindigul, Tuticorin, Virudhunagar, Namakkal, Salem, Coimbatore and Sivagangai and 3 Private ITIs have been selected under STRIVE with a tentative outlay of Rs.29.01 crore.

In this regard, Government of India have released a sum of Rs.11.56 Crore (Rupees Eleven Crore and fifty six Lakh only) towards 40% advance grant for 13 Government and 3 Private ITIs vide DGT letter No. 35(4)/ STRIVE- Tamilnadu / 2019-NPIU, dated.28.04.20.

Basic Training Provider (BTP)

Basic Training Provider (BTP) is an entity who has adequate/necessary facilities for a trade and providing basic training to fresher apprentices, who otherwise do not have any formal education and/or training in related trades, engaged by an establishment.

District Skill Training Office

Apprenticeship Training (ATS) is implemented in 111 designated trades in Tamilnadu State through 26 District Skill Training Offices located at district head quarters of all districts. All India Trade Test under this Scheme is conducted during April and October every year. After completion of prescribed training period and passing of trade test, apprentices are issued National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC). In our State Apprenticeship Training Scheme is being implemented in 2414 Industrial Establishments which includes 1773 Private and 641 State Government Establishments. Also, 105 Central Government Establishments imparting ATS in our State.

The Government of India has launched Apprentice Protsahan Yojana scheme on 16.10.14. Under this scheme 50% of stipend payable to maximum two apprentices per MSME will be borne by Central Government.
